A Beautiful Disaster - Red Mountain Pass

Next stop after Ridgway was Red Mountain Pass near Silverton. The storm had laid down quite a layer of snow at this altitude, but I needed to keep painting. It was geting late when I got set up so I had to make a run for it before dark. It was bitterly cold, but I loved the color in this water from all the mine tailings.
